What an intense project this was, not intense in a stressful way, but because of the incredible energy of the children. It was amazing to experience, and I truly believe that being a parent made these images possible. Parenthood has shifted how I see childhood, the friendships, the chaos, the joy, and I wanted to bring that perspective into this work. My goal was to capture all of that: the core memories, the fun, the sense of belonging, and the first steps of discovering the world. School is not just about lessons, it’s where you learn to navigate friendships, to find your passions, and to understand the bigger picture of life. With that in mind, we worked closely with the team at Grammar Junior School, creating natural moments where the kids could be themselves, while I simply tried to document the magic that is childhood. A huge thank you to my assistant, Elias Tsiakouris, and everyone at the school who shared this vision and helped bring it to life.
