CYPRUS CLIMBING GUIDEBOOK

I had the pleasure of contributing a few photographs, including the cover, to Cyprus’s first-ever sport climbing guidebook. This project was born out of pure passion from a small but determined group of climbers, who spent years mapping and developing routes across the island. It’s been amazing to play a small part in documenting this milestone for Cyprus’s outdoor community and to help showcase the beauty and spirit of its wild climbing landscapes.

THE CLASSIC HOTEL | NICOSIA
Aspelia Naturalis Photography Exhibition

On April 5th, Aspelia Naturalis stepped out of the pages of the book and onto the walls of The Classic Hotel in Nicosia. For the first time ever, the photographs were shown as large-scale fine art prints, printed on archival museum-grade paper. Until now, only private collectors had seen the work in this form. Experiencing them at scale was something entirely different, textures, depth, and the smallest details came alive in a way the book could only hint at. The opening night was an unforgettable experience, with over 200 people attending, friends, family, collaborators, collectors, clients, and many new faces who simply share a love for Cyprus. The conversations, the energy, and the connection to the island’s landscapes and nature made it a truly special moment. Alongside the prints, the exhibition featured signed books, limited-edition postcards created especially for the show, and new merchandise inspired by Aspelia Naturalis. The exhibition is part of a wider journey of talks, podcasts, interviews, and future events connected to the book and the themes it explores.

CASALE PANAYIOTIS | KALOPANAYIOTIS
Conservation Collective’s Global Gathering 2025

I was honoured to be invited as a speaker at the Conservation Collectives Global Gathering 2025, hosted by the Cyprus Environment Foundation. My talk focused on the role of photography in nature conservation, how art can act as a bridge for science, connecting complex issues with the public in a powerful and emotional way.
I also shared insights on how a photographic project can evolve beyond the single image, through interactive exhibitions, books, and other mediums that deepen engagement and inspire action.

THE CYPRUS MUSEUM | NICOSIA
Πέντε - Five

I was commissioned to photograph the landscapes for the FIVE exhibition at the Cyprus Museum, a task that turned out to be far more complicated than it might look when you see the final images. During the first meeting, the curators and archaeologists explained that they needed landscapes of Cyprus that could resemble the environment each of the five individuals from the exhibition would have seen during their lifetime. In other words, I had to track down places that, based on archaeological research, could feel as close as possible to the landscapes of their time. Armed with their notes and my own knowledge of the island, I spent days exploring, searching for spots that could fit their vision. On top of that, the images had to be panoramic and visually align with the tones and mood of the exhibition design. It was an unusual and fascinating challenge, blending photography with archaeology, imagination, and careful attention to detail.

AUDI SHOWROOM | NICOSIA
A better Life is calling X Aspelia Naturalis Show

In December 2023, the Audi showroom in Nicosia was transformed into an immersive space where technology, nature, and storytelling came together. My images of the Audi Q8 e-tron were printed on a massive scale, while landscapes from Aspelia Naturalis were displayed on 5x3m screens positioned in front of and behind the cars. Sitting inside a car, you could look out and feel as if you were truly there, with sounds from nature playing inside the cabins. This was also the very first time Aspelia Naturalis was mentioned publicly, months before its release, creating a sense of anticipation for the book. A special thank you to Christianna Diogenous (CEO of Unicars) for her incredible support, and to Vasso Vasiliou (CEO of Innovation/Leo Burnett), without whom none of this would have been possible.

A.G LEVENTIS GALLERY | NICOSIA
Red Soil Exhibition

Kochinohoma – Red Soil (A.G. Leventis Gallery, 20 September – 16 October 2022) was an immersive, multi-media exhibition that confronted the harsh reality of illegal bird-trapping in Cyprus. Under the creative direction of photographer Silvio Augusto Rusmigo and designers Omiros Panayides and Thalis Nicolaou, the show merged documentary film (by Kostas Drakos), interactive installations, and artefactual displays to reimagine the exhibition space as a figurative crime scene. Through confessional objects (mist nets, decoys, adhesive sticks), evocative soundscapes and visual testimony, it invited viewers to reckon with wildlife crime not as a distant issue but one rooted in cultural narratives, economic incentives, and individual responsibility.

A large-scale campaign and photographic exhibition created in collaboration with Audi Cyprus and Innovation Leo Burnett. Shot entirely around the island with the all-new Audi Q5, the project reimagined Cyprus as a playground of landscapes and experiences. BIRDLIFE CYPRUS
The Important Bird Areas of Cyprus

One of my earliest large-scale projects, created for BirdLife Cyprus. I spent several months photographing key habitats and landscapes across the island for this publication, authored by my dear friend and mentor, the late Martin Hellicar, together with Vasiliki Anastasi, along with the vital input of Damla Beton and Robin Snape. The book documents the most important sites for birds in Cyprus and was a milestone in local conservation work.

Working on this project meant visiting some of the island’s most remote and beautiful places, often with muddy boots and long days in the field. It was challenging but deeply rewarding, and looking back, it played a big part in shaping how I see nature, place, and storytelling through photography.

6x6 CENTRE OF PHOTOGRAPHY | LIMASSOL
New Talent Show Vol. I

Back in 2014, I took part in New Talent Show Vol. I at the 6x6 Centre for Photography in Limassol, alongside Sarah Malian and Pavlos Vrionides. My work focused on everyday landscapes and quiet details from my time exploring Cyprus. Trips and experiments that helped me figure out what kind of photographer I wanted to become. It was one of my first public shows and a really grounding experience.
