SERGIOU WINERY
This series tells the story of the fieldwork behind winemaking at Domes Sergiou Winery, following the vineyards from the quiet of winter pruning to the intensity of the summer harvest. I wanted to create two distinct visual approaches: the landscapes are captured in bold, vibrant colour to showcase the richness and vitality of Cyprus’s land, while the fieldwork itself is rendered in black and white, focusing on the hands-on labor and tradition. To achieve the raw, timeless feel I envisioned, I experimented in-camera, taping the front of the lens to create a tactile, aged effect. This approach allowed me to strip the process back to its essentials and experience the visual poetry as it unfolded. I wanted to honour the land, the people who tend it, and the enduring winemaking heritage of Cyprus, which continues to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in tradition.
From pruning to harvest, across the landscapes that give wine a home.
