I travelled across Sri Lanka with the Lanka Environment Fund (LEF) to document a selection of the conservation projects they support across the country, working alongside their local partners and the communities involved.

The work took me from drylands to wetlands, from fish markets to agricultural landscapes. We drove through endless paddy fields, entered the highlands and tea estates, explored hidden forests and visited the mysterious landscape of Horton Plains.

Across very different projects, the work covered human wildlife coexistence, habitat restoration, native plant nurseries, women led livelihoods, sustainable tourism and responsible seafood. The photographs were created as a visual resource for LEF and their partners, documenting both the work taking place and the people behind it.
