ENERGY INTEL GROUP

Beyond solar panels: people, vision, and the future of energy.

When EnergyIntel first approached me, I honestly wasn’t sure how we’d work together. I fully support renewable energy and believe it’s where the future lies, but at first, I couldn’t see how my photography would fit into their world. My initial thought was, “How many ways can you photograph a solar panel?” Turns out… many.

Very quickly, I realized that EnergyIntel was much more than just “solar panels.” They’re innovators, driving forward-thinking projects that shape the future of energy in Cyprus and beyond. Then I met Eugenia, the CEO, whose passion and energy (pun intended) filled the room. Her vision for the company and her belief in the power of what they’re doing were contagious. That was the moment I knew this collaboration would be something special.

For me, commercial projects like this are never just about the product. They’re about the people and the story behind what they do. I approach my clients as collaborators, not just clients, and I spend time learning about their world before ever lifting the camera. With EnergyIntel, that meant visiting their photovoltaic parks, talking with the team, and understanding their installations before deciding how to frame their story visually.

My first day was at a PV park, sunrise to sunset. At first, I struggled to see beyond the obvious shapes and rows, but as the day went on, I began noticing subtleties in light, form, and rhythm, and the work started to come alive.

Another sunrise took me to a rooftop installation,  which was a challenge from the start because I’m genuinely scared of heights. When I saw the crane waiting to take us up, I ended up hugging one of the crew members on the way, while everyone laughed their heads off. At the top, it was chaos: strong winds, a full-on dust storm, the roof blinding white, and the sun blasting straight into my face. I remember thinking, “What am I even doing here?”

Then, out of nowhere, one of the guys pulled out a Milwaukee speaker and cranked DMX at full volume. Suddenly, we were all up there, half-dancing while installing solar panels, a completely surreal moment. And somehow, in that mix of fear, wind, dust, and music, I made some of my favorite images of the project.

Through these sessions, my goal was to go beyond just documenting solar panels, I wanted to create visuals that reflect EnergyIntel’s innovative spirit and the human drive behind clean energy.
